A letter to my daughters on November 6th, 2024

Girls.  We want you to know that despite what the outcome was in this election, know that you are both smart, strong, capable, Latina 🇵🇷🇩🇴 women who can accomplish amazing things by working hard and staying true to yourselves and your values.  As Latinos, our culture and our people have been through many difficult periods throughout history, both in the lands of our ancestors, and the country we live in today. Despite these difficulties (or perhaps because of them), we have always been able to not just survive, but thrive and find joy.  Today and every day, focus on what you need to do and do it. Don't get distracted,  don't doubt your abilities and talents, and don't let anything or ANYONE make you feel you need to make yourself smaller or quieter to accommodate them. In fact, make yourself bigger and louder! Never apologize for the space you occupy. It is yours by right because you and the people before you have struggled and sacrificed for you to get right where you
